Because “X” indicates a sliding leaf, always remember to state whether the sliding doors, kits or patio door plus are to be “XO” or “OX” when viewed from the outside.
When investing in patio doors, aluminium doors and windows, the 1/175th Span rule should always be top of mind. This rule governs the flexibility of an aluminium window, patio door, shop front, etc., and states that all aluminium products must be designed to ensure that the deflection, positive or negative perpendular to the pane of glass is never to exceed 1/175th of the length of the glass edge.
It is important to keep in mind that if fly screens are required, these will be supplied with the correct frame head and cill, as flyscreens do not generally fit standard patio heads and cill frames.
Custom sized doors and burglar bars can be supplied on request.
Products and technical specifications are subject to change without prior notice.
All doors & windows are weatherproofed with quality vinyl seals and woolpile.
Generally 4mm or 5mm float glass is used for windows. When required by legislation, safety glass will be supplied.
Safety glass is the standard installation used for doors.
All glass products comply with National Building Regulations Part “N” Glazing and have passed the minimum performance requirement as published by AAAMSA. Should documentation of test certificates be requested, these will be supplied.
According to ANS 10400 and SANS 10137 it is compulsory for deflections in framing (for glazing) to be restricted to 1/175th of the span of mullions and transoms under wind loading.
